Workshop Leader
Dr John Newland is a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He is registered as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council, incorporated Centre for Psychology* Limited in 2009 and remains its sole director.
Dr Newland has navigated and charted the waters of setting up as an independent practitioner.
The workshop is based on his direct experience.

A full-day webinar that comprises four key areas essential to establishing an Independent Practice:
My Business Plan – to include legal identity; pricing; accommodation and equipment
My Services – to include assessments; therapy provision; consultation and supervision
My Referral Plan – marketing your Independent Practice beyond your website
My Expansion Plan – ensuring scalability for your future needs

*Centre for Psychology began by providing therapy services to individuals and currently holds a substantive NHS contract to provide an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service across Surrey Heartlands ICB and Frimley ICB, a contract with NHS England (formerly Health Education England) to provide training for Step 2 and Step 3 therapists in partnership with Surrey University. Centre for Psychology directly employs over 50 staff.
